I'm at the dining room table, strewn with paper printouts, art notebooks, and empty coffee cups. Michael Buble and Nellie Furtado serenade Hannah as she sprawls on the living room floor taping dozens of printed sheets into larger images, which she then takes out to our studio, well, er, garage. Out there, Pat, Joe, and Dave are beginning sketching our latest mural project, the 23rd Psalm. Or, as I prefer, Project "23". Gives it an Area 51 mystique.
This is actually just one phase of the project that will culminate next weekend at the Art Fest in Waukee, where this gang of four will finish the piece live, like in front of others and everything.
The point? As always, use the creative gifts in them (us) to teach us more about the Creator, learning His word in ways that stay with us. So we've already met several times to study the passage and then decide how to convey what we see there to others.
The big challenge? How do you show a concept like "The Lord is my shepherd" to non-rural types? Dont' want to let the cat out of the bag, but I think our artists have come up with a great way to do it. So stay tuned!
