“...equally obvious to us all is that God is using this to expand the vision and scope of our ministry, giving it greater impact.”
Pat’s health hasn’t stopped us.
To Recap: Pat has a movement disorder that keeps her in bed most of the time, with even brief periods of exertion being a struggle for her. Doctors don’t know the exact cause or what can be done at this time to help her. She is not in pain and remains committed to our task.
After our trip to Philly in early April, CrossWorld agrees that we cannot move to France at this time, that’s obvious. But equally obvious to us all is that God is using this to expand the vision and scope of our ministry, giving it greater impact.
Our effort to start a creative arts ministry in France has led us to explore what we call Art as Discipleship. It’s a simple idea. Using the arts to make relationships and introduce people to Christ, also means using the arts to help them grow in their faith -to make disciples.
A painter studies a passage of the Bible with a mentor, then express the truth found there in an original painting. Thus our painter engages God’s word at a deep level in a way that is natural and exciting for him or her – through art. Get a bunch of artists repeatedly together and using the art they create to benefit others, and you’re making committed disciples. The art form could be painting, music, performance – you name it.
Stay tuned for the "New Plan" We are so excited!
